Software

It's advised to use Photoshop, or any other software that is capable of opening .PSD files, to edit these templates. Also, basic knowledge of image editing is advised. I tried my best to make the template as easy to use, but if you find it too hard to use, stick with the pre-installed themes and colors, or ask a friend to make you a theme.

Layers

The template consists out of different layers. From top to botton: - UVmap: use this as a reference where, what goes

- Shadowmap: ambient occlusion map that creates a soft shadow

- Highlight overlay (folder): these highlights go over the base color and the theme, to create a shiny effect. Tweak the opacity to set the strength. Dark colors need a lower opacity than bright colors

- Your Theme (folder): build your theme in this folder

- Highlights (folder, hidden by default): This highlight folder goes under the theme folder, this is primarily for the basecolor. Especially bright colors (white, light grey) can benefit from this folder. In some cases you can even duplicate it, to create a stronger effect

- BaseColor: this is the base color

Notes

- The area inside the side windows will only be visible on the Panel Van version. On all the other versions, this will be glass

- The hood area is slightly stretched out and bended

- The rear doors have a small gap between them, if you put text there, make sure the letters have enough space between them

- Don't duplicate the Highlight Overlay folder, the shadows and highlights around the windows will become too strong. Use the Highlights (lower) folder

- Texture size in SL is limited to 1024px by 1024px. Don't add too much details or small graphics to the template, it might turn out blurry
